A welcome sing-sing ceremony in Papua New Guinea

On an expedition to the Adelbert Mountains in Papua New Guinea, we were welcomed by a sing-sing ceremony in each of the villages that kindly hosted us during our fieldwork: Musiamunat, a tiny village perched on a ridge above (and below) some of the steepest rainforest slopes I have seen; Yavera, between two rivers, with some of the best buai (betel nut) that we tasted; and Iwarame, a beautiful garden village on the way towards the road that goes to the road that, eventually, leads to Madang. We: Eddie Game, Tim Boucher, and Justine Hausheer (the author of our expedition blog), all from The Nature Conservancy, and myself.
